Avocados are packed with healthy fats, vitamins, and fiber, so you can opt for this snack without feeling guilty afterwards. There are also a bunch of different ways to make it, so you'll never be bored. Whether you order your green spread topped with cheese, a fried egg, or prosciutto, it is sure to be an Instagram-worthy masterpiece. So bring your empty stomachs and whip out your phones!

Here are five of our favorite places to order avocado toast in New York City:

  1. Two Hands

This cute café on Mott Street is famous for its' instagrammable breakfast entrées and coffee drinks. Their avocado toast, topped with chili flakes, olive oil, and lemon, is only $9 (add tomatoes or a poached egg for an extra $3). Affordable and aesthetically pleasing, this avocado toast is (two) hands down one of the best in town.

  1. Bluestone Lane

This chain has four café locations in NYC, and about seven smaller coffee shop locations, all of which serve their well-known Avo Smash. They serve their version of the dish with tahini, heirloom cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, and sunflower sprouts, but some of the locations offer egg and prosciutto as options as well. Bonus: the coffee here is great.

  1. Café Henrie

Pink tables, pink cups, and pink menus. This place has really embraced the staple millennial color and vibe. Their avocado toast is probably the prettiest on this list, featuring a watermelon radish that looks like a flower. So cute and so delicious! They serve a good acai bowl here, too, if you want to go and share a couple dishes with a friend.

It is only fitting to round out our list with this pick, as it is considered the birthplace of avocado toast in New York City. Their recipe is pretty simple, but the original is always the one to beat. If you can make it down here, you absolutely should, but if not, don't worry! There are tons of recipes online for Café Gitane avocado toast recreations that you can make right at home.
